Buzz Bomb Ahead on Minimum Wage

Buzz Bomb owner, Josh Flanders, recently spoke to News Channel 20 on the upcoming January 2024 minimum wage increase in the state of Illinois.

Another Springfield business has been ahead of the law already paying employees more.

This, however, did not go unnoticed when preparing for this upcoming January.

“I don’t feel like the minimum wage increase is going to be a make or a break for businesses, I think it’s more of the overall economic picture is the problem that we are having,” Flanders said.

Flanders said it’s going to be difficult to see how the short-term and long-term effects are going to play out, considering small businesses have been struggling to get back on their feet after 2020.

He feels, however, it may pay off in one way.

“That’s going to increase payroll cost for companies but you also got people who now are making more money and can spend it and eject it into the economy,” Flanders said.
