Buzz Bomb Ahead on Minimum Wage

Buzz Bomb owner, Josh Flanders, recently spoke to News Channel 20 on the upcoming January 2024 minimum wage increase in the state of Illinois.

Another Springfield business has been ahead of the law already paying employees more.

This, however, did not go unnoticed when preparing for this upcoming January.

“I don’t feel like the minimum wage increase is going to be a make or a break for businesses, I think it’s more of the overall economic picture is the problem that we are having,” Flanders said.

Flanders said it’s going to be difficult to see how the short-term and long-term effects are going to play out, considering small businesses have been struggling to get back on their feet after 2020.

He feels, however, it may pay off in one way.

“That’s going to increase payroll cost for companies but you also got people who now are making more money and can spend it and eject it into the economy,” Flanders said.

Ease your superstitions by ringing in the new year Buzz Bomb Brewing Company and Seoul 4 Soul’s – Feeling Lucky New Year’s Eve Event. We will be providing good luck charms in the form of classic New Year’s traditions from several parts of the globe. Wear red, or white (optional, but for good luck) and make sure you don’t clean the house the next day.

$100 ALL INCLUSIVE TICKETS will get you an open bar featuring Buzz Bomb Beer, Beers from other Central Illinois Breweries, cider, food provided by Seoul 4 Soul, and a champagne toast at Midnight. Your ticket is ALSO a raffle ticket for the evening with a chance to win a Brew Day with Buzz Bomb! Seoul 4 Soul bringing Korean fusion food to downtown Springfield!

Korean fusion food is coming to downtown Springfield. Chefs Kimsimone Manning and Emily Tylman are teaming up to open Seoul 4 Soul in the upper level of Buzz Bomb Brewing Company at 406 E. Adams St.

It’s a stacked week for the Holiday season! Check out the Holiday Walks Wednesday and stick around for Buzzed Bingo at 7pm. Thursday we welcome back Lincoln Library, The Public Library of Springfield, IL for Board Game Night at Buzz Bomb Brewing Co.

Friday is the final Brew Ha Ha of the year with a killer lineup of local and regional comedians!

Saturday we’re going all out for the Old Capitol Holiday Walks, presented by INB featuring children’s crafts with Getting Crafty at the Holiday Walks all day AND Johnnie Owens Live at the Holiday Walks from 2pm-4pm.
